Helping you respond to COVID-19

Pacific People is committed to supporting individuals, companies, organisations and their employees during the Coronavirus pandemic. Register your expertise, access our resources and learn about other ways we can help you through this time. We are all in this together.

AVI Pacific People was established in 2018 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Australian Volunteers International (AVI), to utilise and build on AVI’s fifty years of recruitment expertise and experience in Australia and the Pacific region.

Pacific People opened its office located at Level 2, BSP Life Central Building, in Suva, Fiji on 11th March 2019, with its own dedicated resources and also working with experienced recruitment partners to provide the first Pacific Islands-wide integrated recruitment service. The business was officially launched on 9th May 2019 and was well attended by invited guests from private, public and civil society organisations.

In the past six months, Pacific People has had the opportunity to offer a wide range of services to our clients. This included recruitment for senior management and executive positions, advertising vacant management positions using Pacific People’s jobs board, as well as providing business advisory service to our clients. Our clients so far include the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR); Paradise Beverages Fiji Limited; Fiji Red Cross Society; Ministry of Economy; Fiji Bureau of Statistics; South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO), and Oceanic Communications (Samoa) Limited.

Pacific People is also proud to co-sponsor a number of key business events so far in 2019. This includes the Fiji Human Resources Institute (FHRI) Executives Networking Conference held in March and FHRI Awards in June; FCEF’s Top Executive Conference in July, and the NZ Fiji /Fiji NZ Business Council Annual Conference held in Auckland in August.

Furthermore, Pacific People signed a 3-year partnership with Leadership Fiji (LF) as a Bronze sponsor for the LF Programme. In a statement at the signing ceremony, GM Pacific People, Thelma Taria-Savua said “We are pleased to partner with Leadership Fiji in their quest to enhance the leadership potential and capabilities of promising young leaders around the country. This initiative is aligned to Pacific People’s goal to encourage capacity building and create a pool of talented leaders and individuals that we could mobilize across the Pacific.”

By drawing on our networks, personal relationships and exercising good judgement, Pacific People is perfectly positioned to meet our client’s business needs.
